...Said My 3 Year Old

I started collecting sayings from Noelle that I just didn't want to forget. I plan on keeping a running record throughout this year. Here are some of my favorites so far:

"Mom, this song isn't my favorite." (Said in super disappointed voice, in the car.)
"Mom, I don't love this show."
"Why can't she go home?" (Listening to Tove Lo's "Habits" in the car.)
"I can't clean my toys. I'm just a little girl."
"That is too hard for me." (When asked if she would like to try ice skating.)
"No, I'm a girl." (When asked if she was nuts.)
"Oh! I pooped rocks! I made poop rocks!"
"Baby Halle wants these. We need to get these for her." (At Target, pointing out cupcakes.)
"This milk is not right." (When trying almond milk.)
"I love Trader Joe's."
"Mom, don't go to work for a long time today."
"This is taking a long time." (At the doctor's office, after 5 minutes.)
"Is Baby Halle pumping your milk?" (While I was nursing Halle.)
"She have crazy hair!" (Watching "Annie.")
"I don't have a father!!!!" (While reading a book, in which the character has a father. Noelle says she only has a daddy, no fathers.)
"It's okay mommy, I called daddy. He's coming to pick you up. He will take care of you." (Playing Doc McStuffins. I was the ill patient.)
"I can't do that. It will hurt my feelings."
"Oh! We can't get over these traps!! They are alligators! And they will bite our toes off!" (Talking about vacuum cords on the floor.)
"Mommy, you need Hello Kitty pajamas to match me. That would be very cute."
"That is not cute enough for me." (Refusing an outfit I picked for her.)
"I love this song." (Black Widow came on the radio. LOL!!!!)
"Mommy, don't pee on my bed okay?" (While reading bedtime stories.)
"I'm not Doc anymore. I'm Noelle Sofia Wagner." (This is her new name that she calls herself.)
"Oh it's okay Baby Halle. Why you cry Baby Halle? You want your paci? " (Comforting her sister.)
"I don't want this cupcake!! I want the one in your belly!!" (Crying, because I ate the cupcake, that looked and tasted exactly like her cupcake.)
"Oh no! I forgot to brush my teeth!" Trying to stall bedtime. After I reminded her that she DID brush her teeth, then she replied: "Oh! Well. I forgot to wash my hands after I peed!!" Then I said, it was okay and she could go to bed, she said "No, mommy! See?!?! They are SO dirty!"(Shows me her clean hands.)

Double Digit Territory: Baby Halle's 10 Months!

Happy Halle is 10 months already! I can't believe she's already in the double digits, and in only two more short months she will be a one year old!

She is still an extremely happy, sweet, easy going baby who smiles all day and laughs at everyone. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter baby.

She is crawling all over the place, pulling herself up on furniture, walking along furniture, and has finally figured out how to lower herself back to the ground. For a while there she would pull herself up (like in her crib for example) then get so upset because she wouldn't know how to get back down! She would often find herself "stuck" and then scream until someone came to help her, lol. She finally figured it out, so no more problems!

Her favorite things are pretty much the same: being carried around, being cuddled, being tickled, playing peek-a-boo, watching big sis Noelle, following Noelle all over the place, and being with mom and dad. She's becoming SUCH a daddy's girl! Sometimes she will reach out to him and prefer him over me! Hard to believe. Lol.

She also loves Little People toys, just like Noelle, and likes music. She loves to watch Noelle dance and thinks it's hilarious when I carry her and dance with her.

She isn't a huge fan of going outside, but she never really protests. She just never smiles, haha. I think little baby gets too cold. :)

She loves eating! She seriously is the kid that will try anything, and will probably like it. She also LOVES water. She gets sooo crabby when I forget it when she's eating! She definitely knows when her mouth is dry or when she is thirty and will pound her fist until she gets her water in her sippy cup!

She however, does not love sleeping. At 10 months, she is still not a very good sleeper. She still wakes up frequently at night (at least 3x a night ---3 if we are lucky, up to 6 times if we are very unlucky). She wakes up screaming and very unhappy, which is so not like her! It's hard to get her back to sleep as well. Joey and I have been SO tired, since this has been going on for at least 4 months. Finally I had her pediatrician refer her to St. Paul Children's Sleep Center for a sleep study. We cannot wait to see if they can help us! Her appointment is next Tuesday and we are beyond excited.

She still is only saying mama and dada! No new words yet! :) But she has some new talents: rolling her tongue over and over and also making pop and click sounds. It's so cute!

Another cute, but unusual thing? She still has NO teeth. Lol! She has not even a bump on her gums or any trace that teeth are coming. We don't mind though because we love her gummy smile, but it's funny that she's already 10 months and eating such a large variety of solid food, with no teeth!

One thing she really doesn't like is getting her hair washed. Just like Noelle, she screams and cries and makes a big fuss about getting her hair washed. Other than that, she loves bath time. She and Noelle take their baths together now and just love it. It also saves water. :)

We are STILL nursing! I'm definitely producing less milk - I can tell  - but we are still trying. After Halle nurses we usually give her another 4-6 oz. of formula, and she sucks it down! My goal was to breastfeed for one year, so we are getting close to that mark! It hasn't been easy - as now I'm not making as much so she sucks VERY hard! It's just like in the beginning, with cracked, sore nipples, but I'm still trying to go a bit longer.

Dearest baby Halle, you are our shining star. We love you!
Happy 10 months dollface!

MN Tot Spots: Baby Story Time @ New Brighton's Library

I've posted about them a million times, but here's another post for the fabulous Ramsey County Libraries! As many of you know, libraries usually host story times...I've lived in a couple different county's and have nannied in many different ones, so I've been to plenty of county libraries. Ramsey is always my top choice. They offer the most wonderful variety of story times (baby story time, family story time, e-story times, make-n-take story times, etc.) with the most generous amenities, and the kindest librarian story tellers! They always offer an hour of stories, songs, puppet shows, and always involve the kids!

Noelle and I used to go to Shoreview's Baby story time every week when she was an infant, and it was so worth it. It was a way for me to meet other mom's in the area, have a place to go for an hour with Noelle, and it was so fun. It was like a free ECFE class! Noelle and I loved it. Once I went back to nannying, I would take Evan, Amery, and Noelle all to the story times. That was when we upgraded to the Family story time. (And we would usually go to Roseville or Shoreview.)

When we first got to story time, Halle was very confused. Usually she's either in her car seat or she's in the baby carrier. Lol. She's like, "What's going on!?"

After having Halle, I wanted to give her the same attention, but unfortunately we have been such a busy family of 4! With Noelle in school a couple days, in dance a couple of days, and Joey and my opposite work schedules, or Grandma babysitting, I haven't been able to get Halle to story time!

I was SO happy last week when we made it to Baby Storytime at the New Brighton location! It was AMAZING and a great experience for Halle! Ms. Tami is the librarian that runs it, and she is just as wonderful as Ms. Angi from Shoreview. They started with interactive baby songs, had two books for the kids to read, let the kids shake their sillies out, and then ended the session with toys upon toys!

Halle has never been to something like this before (something that's actually geared towards her and not Noelle!) and it was so fun for her. She had a huge smile on her face and LOVED the music and the books. Of course for baby story times they always pick books with flaps or books with different textures, and it was so fun to have some new books for her to explore.

Noelle was with, and being the oldest child there by at least 2 years, lol, she got to be a "mommy" herself. She was given a stuffed mouse and that was her baby! She was SO cute. She even had her "baby" on her knee and bounced her around with the rest of us when we did the baby songs!

Overall it was so fun, and I'm going to try sooo hard to take Halle to more of these events!

Finally, baby Halle gets to make some friends!

Here is a listing of the baby story times through Ramsey County:
Mondays 9:45am, Roseville
Wednesdays 9:45am, Maplewood & Roseville
Thursdays 9:45am, New Brighton & Shoreview

Here is a link to their website, with all the complete listings of various story times.

Week In Review

We had such a fun and once again, super full week! I feel like my life is just flying by! It's already the last week of January! Geesh! Good thing we have been having a good time! (And trying to be productive!)

A look back on our week:

Sweet baby Halle, just being sweet.

Noelle and I attended friend Zoe's 5th birthday party! Noelle was excited to help me wrap the present (oh, so much tape), and decorate the wrapping!

Apparently she drew Joey, herself, and Zoe on it, lol. I LOVE her new drawing talent!! She just recently started drawing bodies!

Since it was a princess themed birthday party, Noelle dressed up as Rapunzel!

I even let her wear a little lipgloss, and the tiniest amount of blush. My princess!

Noelle and Zoe helping each other out with accessories.

Rapunzel and Elsa!

Playing with the gift Noelle got Zoe! (Ariel's Grotto!)

We had a fantastic time over at our friends, The Bennett's, for dinner this past week as well! The kids dined while the parents wined/whined? Haha. Noelle and Oliver just love each other. They don't fight ever, and they communicate and play together so well!

Halle third wheeling it on Oliver and Noelle's dinner date.

These two played downstairs by themselves for most of the night! It was so relaxing and nice for our kids to go enjoy themselves, so we could too!

Noelle's new favorite thing is hopscotch. She has been talking about it non-stop ever since we visited a preschool that had it. So here is my makeshift hopscotch in our kitchen, made with masking tape.

Here are the girls at Shoreview library doing some puzzles together. I love that baby Halle is starting to be able to do stuff with Noelle.

The girls enjoying some of the books we got at the library before bedtime.

"Hi. I'm cute."

"My crown."

Halle cracks me up in that peacoat. Here she is at Baby Story time at the New Brighton library. More here.

At dance, with big cousin Ellie, who was braiding her hair for her. :)

"Hey, I need some attention too!"

Ellie and Halle cuddling and steamrolling. Lol. Love my nieces and nephews so much.

After dance, the girls got REALLY lucky. I decided because for once I wasn't working, to have a mommy/daughter day! We went to Rosedale mall, went shopping and got some new hair and dance accessories, ate pizza in the food court, rode the train, and then ended it with some frozen yogurt!

My girls on their lunch date with mommy!

One of the days we also decided to experiment with some cupcakes! I decided to try making my own strawberry filled cupcakes - practicing for baby Halle's smash cake! Noelle was a fabulous helper.

They turned out really yummy! I definitely learned a few things though that will help me when I do the real thing!

A new thing that we started this past week was having family naps. A lot of people frown on co-sleeping, but you know what? It works for us. The girls sleep in their own bed/crib at night, but we thought it was fun to cuddle and all have a family siesta one day. Well the girls slept SO good (and longer!!) together that we decided to do it a couple more times. So this week, we took a few afternoon naps altogether! Good thing we have a California King! :)

Another family siesta.

Noelle meeting Grandpa's new puppy, Cooper!

The best day we had this week was for sure the day Joey got off work early and we went out for lunch! We went to our old haunt, Green Mill, which we used to frequent all the time before we had kids. It was so fun to go with the girls.

Yummmm Green Mill!!

Dressing some of the princesses before bed.

We also got outside!! This weather has been unbelievable!! (30+ degrees in January!? We'll take it!)

We had such a great week. I mean, most of our weeks are pretty good, but this one was so special because we got to spend so much time together, and with daddy!! It's awesome when Joey can get off work early. It was so fun to go on so many dates with the girls and to get out of the house!! This week we are REALLY busy. I accepted a long term substitute job so I will be working all 5 days this week! The girls are lucky enough to be able to be with Grandma Sue, but I will still miss and wonder about them. :)

Hope everyone had a great week, and hope this week is even better! See you next week!
